In the beginning, I assumed I would be sick of beef within a week. Now, 120 days, almost a third of a year, and still loving every delicious meat-filled meal. And I enjoy it more now than I did before.
What I Did Well
Well, for one, I ate only carnivore foods. As someone who always struggled with my weight, the concept of rewarding weight loss with food isn’t a distant memory. I attended parties, went out for meals with friends, even went to the movie theater, all without surrendering to temptation. Not having cravings is one thing, but ignoring old favorites while others indulge is liberating. Talk about a non-scale victory!
What I Could Have Done Better
With summer turning quickly to fall, cold air limited my urges to work out. While I did continue to work on my calisthenics efforts, it was far less than I had been. Early in the month, muscle soreness halted my daily sessions. Unfortunately, when the soreness passed, other habits and routines took its place. At this point, I feel that I can reach most of the goals I previously set, so they will stay intact for the end of the year. No reason to dwell on what I didn’t do, time to focus on what I will do.
As I admitted last week, I reintroduced cheese into my diet this month. Initially, I used cheese as a bonus with some meals. But, my love of cheese got the best of me and I started eating it daily. While I am very pleased with the progress I am making, I do believe cheese can negatively impact this process. Over the entire 120, this past 30 days seems to have had the least amount of inches lost. I did recently switch to distilled water and now urinate less, so it is possibly a layer of water weight. Although, I am not sure what would be holding in this water weight with no carbs. For now, cheese stays, but going to limit consumption.
120 Days of Inches Lost
My personal experience with dieting usually results in an immediate weight loss the first week or so followed by endless plateaus. No wonder I quit diets so easily in the past. However, with the carnivore way of eating, I have seen inches drop consistently over the entire 120 days so far.

My Husband’s Journey
Over the past couple weeks, my husband strayed regularly from the diet. As seen below, his numbers reflect the additional carbs he chose to consume this month. We commit to finding the proper nourishment that suits his needs. He continues to follow a mostly meat diet but has not committed long enough to reap energetic benefits. For now, his numbers serve as a baseline to compare against mine since he still follows a healthy diet and should be leaning out.
