Health Is A Marathon, Not A Sprint

Each morning, I wake up, have breakfast, then head to the gym. On a day to day basis, I don’t see much happening. The scale doesn’t move that fast; the inches don’t melt away as quick as I want. But, each day, I feel stronger and feel my health improve.

Health Mindset Initiated

When I got back into the gym last month, I expected to have a long road ahead of me. This mindset won’t change as I see it keeps me in line. Although on several occasions, I gained weight rapidly, virtually overnight, I understand that the cause of those gains consisted of long-term factors.

I am fortunate to have met several inspirational and motivational people along my journey, and I appreciate these people more than I could ever fully express. My consistency and progress, in turn, inspire others to take the leap into the gym or push for one more rep. With each workout, I continue to focus on exceeding yesterday rather than comparing myself to the more fit people in the gym. I cannot express emphatically enough the impact of this mindset change – Life-changing comes to mind.

When it comes to food, I decided to simplify things. Every day, my meals look identical. I found a few carnivore meals that I thoroughly enjoy consuming and eat them consistently. Bacon and eggs for breakfast and bacon cheddar burgers for lunch and dinner. On occasion, like tonight, I throw in a nice big steak. When I feel like I need a snack, I eat some pork rinds (the ones without added oils). As of right now, the idea of eating outside of these items feels foreign and unenticing. I could not be happier or more satisfied.

I take life one day at a time, and I couldn’t be happier. To sum up, finding health is undoubtedly a marathon, not a sprint.
