Back On Track Already Feeling Better

Approx. Reading Time: 2 minutes

For nine months, I struggled to stick to the carnivore way of eating. I consumed meat daily but kept falling into the trap of eating some treat, whether it be a vegetable or a dessert-like snack. The two-day water fast, I completed last week helped me break free from bad habits and get back on track.

My Measurements – Back on Track to Smaller, Healthier Body

When I last followed a strict carnivore WOE, my body measurements consistently shrunk and I felt amazing. For the first six months, I never looked at the scale since I know that number does not matter and only causes stress.

This time around, the scale remains present in the household, so I must control myself from obsessing over it. However, I know many of my readers like to see this number as well. My start weight last week was 221.4 lbs, and as of this morning, I weigh 216.8 lbs.

When I compare the weight loss to how my clothes fit and my measurements changed, I realize that a lot goes on with weight loss. I can see that the bloat on my body decreased significantly and I feel much lighter. With carnivore, lean body mass rebuilds healthy and dense so the scale don’t reflect the measurements quite the same as on standard diets.

Back on Track with Meals

After two days of fasting, my body signaled me that it is time to eat and gave me quite the appetite — each day since I ate three pounds or more of food. On my previous carnivore venture, I tended to stick around 1.5 lbs per day with some days eating more. During that time, I noticed the more I ate, the better my weekly numbers improved.

I firmly believe eating to satiety will keep me back on track. Breaking that lifelong belief of portion control can be tough for many, but I find that providing my body with enough nutrients works far better. As of now, I eat in the morning and the evening, but will throw in a few bites midday if I feel the need. I would rather not fall back into old patterns by letting food cravings trigger a cheat.
