Not Bored Yet – 37 Days of Beef
I can honestly say I look forward to my daily beef intake. Starting this week, I’ve added leaner cuts of beef, mostly 85/15% ground beef, into the mix. I am eating less ribeye, but a higher overall quantity of meat. On average, I am eating about a pound more of beef than initially. I seem to be reaching fat-adaptation and hope to pull ketones from body fat over dietary fat. I will note, I am eating a greater quantity of meat overall. Although, I stay away from cheese currently, I do love butter generally in my morning coffee or melted over my steak. As of late, bacon is the only other meat I treat myself to most days. Since the 30 day mark, my husband decided to take this more seriously and eliminated the small number of carbs he had kept eating. He also includes some dairy, but if that is what makes it work, then that is fine by me.
Adding Exercise into the Mix
Now that I have seen what a month on this way of eating can do without exercise, I am ready to kick it up a notch. Using the TRX system I already own, I have done short sessions for the past five days in a row. I incorporate some small weights in as well. Recently, I concluded that some time spent each day on an activity would add up faster than a bunch of time once or twice per week. Applying this to exercise seems like a no-brainer to me. If I spend 10 minutes a day working out, in one week I have spent 70 minutes working out. If I try to go full speed ahead and attempt an hour-long session, I may only complete 1 per week and will likely forget or quit soon after. Think about it, soreness alone can derail workout plans. Over the course of time, I plan to gradually increase the amount of time spent exercising throughout the day. Honestly, I feel far more likely to make this a daily routine using this method. So far, I am happy with the initial results increased meat intake and the addition of short workouts. Since I don’t look at all of my numbers each week, but I did notice that I lost another inch off of my waist.
