Six months carnivore, boy does time fly when you are feeling amazing. I will admit my new surroundings and holiday celebrations tempted and challenged me.
A Busy & Out of the Ordinary Month
We began our relocation right around the 150-day mark but only finished tying up our loose ends in the past week. Recently, I promised myself never to move during winter or near the major holidays ever again. Lesson Learned! Beyond the move, I dealt with new and several long-term family issues. This overall will prove beneficial, but it did impact my stress levels over the past month significantly.
On the bright side, I increased my daily activity levels dramatically. On average, I doubled the distance/steps walked each day. Now, I live in a two-floor home, rather than a first-floor apartment, so I also walk up and down stairs more (as often as possible). At the beginning of this year, I began daily tracking of my efforts at self-disciplining more activity, learning, and work into my life. Each day, my energy blossoms. I set bigger goals and track myself to ensure I hit them. Since I started holding myself accountable daily, I get much more done and waste much less time.
Bonus Non-Scale Victory
After months of wearing baggy clothes, I decided to pick up a few new items of clothing. I am so excited to report; I now fit comfortably into a size large for activewear tops and bottoms. But, I am more excited to announce that I tried on and purchased size 12 jeans. Size 12 is a significant milestone and non-scale victory for me. Many times I bought pants in size 12 just barely fitting during a diet. For whatever reason, that purchase seemed to trigger something in me because I never got to wear them. My weight loss would halt then go the other way. I consider this a mental block, maybe even in a way self-sabotage, but I don’t see this being an issue now. What a g

Six Months Carnivore – Measurements Progress
To enhance readability, I edited this chart to show my starting weight, my progress at three months, and my current progress at six months carnivore. Please check out the following posts for additional weight loss information: 7/16/18, 8/8/18, 9/3/18, 11/6/18, and 12/6/18. Comparing to last month, I do see a plateau-like trend. However, considering the massive changes in my life over the past month, I will relate the minimal size changes to eating a bit more than I had been, flare-ups relating to adrenal fatigue, and, even, potentially my increases in activity.
Although my inches do not show much of a change over last month, I do feel that my excess skin continues to diminish

My Husband’s Six Month Not Full Carnivore Progress
My husband, on the other hand, picked up progress this month. As time passes, he realized how much better he feels eating a more strict diet. Since then, his “cheat” treats lessened, virtually non-existent now. Now, he sees and feels the progress. He continues to eat meat, rice, and beans primarily. This month he also added a small amount of cucumber and onions (raw and cooked) but did not fall victim to any processed or sugar-laden foods. (Additional measurements for him are on the links above as well)

Six Months Carnivore – Weight Loss Reveal
So, I cracked to some peer pressure and checked the scale. I figured at this point, readers are curious, my friends and family are curious, and it doesn’t hurt to look. For those who follow my blog regularly, you may be familiar with my anti-scale stance. I honestly believe that the number on the scale is not a great reflection of progress on this or any diet. Yet, most people focus on that number over everything else.
I understood going into carnivore that increases in weight happen for some, often attributed to re-building lean body mass. By the time I started carnivore, it had been quite some time since I stepped on a scale. However, after years of scale/diet/measurement addiction and tracking, I expect that my starting weight fell somewhere between 250 and 265 pounds.
As of this morning, January 7th, 2019, my current weight is 190 pounds. A number I had not seen since my early 20s despite years of dieting and exercise. In only six months carnivore, I dropped rough 60 to 75 pounds. I could not be happier.
For my husband, we estimate his start weight between 260 and 270 pounds. His current weight is 227 pounds. In early November, he checked the scale on his own, and it showed 255 pounds, so much of his weight loss appears to be recent.
